Yea you do. My lawyer explained all steps if an officer wants to start an investigate against you.
first of all once you come back to Canada if border police is not satisfied with the statement you made for going back to home country, he/she will report you to the IRCC, then an officer/officers from IRCC will contact you and listento your explanations. If they are not satisfied as well THEN they will build a case against you and you will go go court. This is from a immigration lawyer that’s been working for more than 30years. And my lawyer has not witnessed a single cessation case.
I applied for RTD back in march as urgent. I called IRCC and they said office started processing my application as urgent in the beginning of the august, when do you think I will get my RTD?

Waiver to change in country’s situation applies only on PR-CR08 once positive decision has been made. No matter how the process is, if you return back to your home country and claim change in country situation, IRCC can apply for cessation and its up to you and your laywer to make arguement. Visit justice website and go through several cases of similar situation. Im suprised your 30yrs lawyer doesnt know that….

I wasn’t talking about only waiver to change. U r only talking depending on what the website says but I’m talking about real life experience. If everything was applied as it was stated on the websites so many people would have been deported already lol. Cessation cases take years. It is really hard to take someone’s PR right from them. They try to avoid those processings as much as they can. My brother had a green card in US and according to US you cannot stay longer than 6 months outside of US until you become a citizen. Well he did not go do US for 6 Years without entering at all and nothing happened. Officer only gave a warning and let him go.
my childhood friend went back to his home country after getting PR in canada. He was an asylum when he got back border police let him go without asking a single question lmao. And he got citizenship this year had no problem. I don’t advise doing this or saying nothing will happen but it’s really unlikely to start a case for them. Well but according to you all those people should have lost their status because that’s what the website says. There is always a reason for everything and we are humans not robots.

Hello, I received a voice message from Immigration Canada about TD. They said we are waiting for your tracking number for your national passport via fax. What should I send them exactly? I don't understand.
Thank you Simba112. I know someone who went to his home country twice. When I asked him if he was aware that these travels might create a problem during his citizenship interview and the officer would question his reason for travel he said: I needed to go there because my mother has died due to covid. According to him, the lawyer told him that there won't be any issue.
After researching for a while, I came back with this statement: Every case is different. But the best thing is to wait to become Canadian before you travel. Please read other cases here:

I guess everyone now mark "Urgent Processing" but they dont do anything until you call them several times. Your application may be sitting in mail room unopened yet
