Not if you stay in Italy or Germany. If you plan on leaving these countries you need the Schengen visa.

Hello everyone!

I am a protected person with RTD, I will be going to Johannesburg, South Africa in the coming months and i already got the Visa. I am looking for any information that there is no issue of returning back to Canada without PR? Please share your advice or experience.

Thanks a lot!

you do not need PR to return to canada or to leave, only rtd and visa to where you are going. I did the same no issues. just take an immigration document with you, brown paper or work permit or study permit.

Yes you can travel outside Canada with your RTD not your home country passport but can’t travel to your home country. Gulf countries are especially difficult if not impossible to visit. Not all countries accept RTDs and some may require a visa to visit. There may be a limited time frame for a visit as well. I would suggest contacting the embassy in Canada to ask about requirements if travelling with an RTD.

There are two Haitian nationals who living in another Caribbean Island at the moment who did not get approval to stay. However, the do not want to return top Haiti for security reasons. Do they need to obtain a visa to seek refugee and asylum in Canada? If yes, how they go about doing so and if not, how do they go about doing that?

They would need to be in Canada to apply for asylum and realistically it will be extremely difficult for them to secure a TRV as a Haitian and a Haitian living in another country without status. They can certainly try. The other option would be private sponsorship. Do they have refugee status from UNHCR?

Hello everyone,
I'm going to Singapore, Thailand and Hong Kong in September 2023. I won my case in February 2023. I applied for RTD right after I receive my Notice of Decision. I got my RTD in just 20 days. Already applied for PR but didn't receive it yet. I read somewhere, Turkish Airlines didn't allow someone to board the flight in Canada because the person traveling with RTD had an e-visa. They told him that only a sticker visa is accepted.

I have applied for Singapore, Thailand and Hong Kong e-visas with my RTD and received them within a few days. I'm flying with Emirates with a transit in Dubai for 3 hours approximately. I got to know that I can transit via any Gulf country but can't seek entry which is absolutely okay. In these countries where I'm going to have no option for sticker visas. Will I still be allowed to fly with Emirates?

How about coming back to Canada without PR? My return flight is from Thailand with the same airline.

Thanks a lot for reading my long story. Looking forward to hearing from people who traveled with RTD to one or more of those Asian countries and came back without any problem.

Thank you all...
