Hey, when did you submit your refugee claim ?
Submitted - Nov 23
Medical passed - Nov 25 (She wasn’t requested to do a medical exam and it was automatically updated as she had done a medical exam for a visitor visa under a year ago)
Biometrics - Nov 25 (doesn't show passed but shows that it was given a year ago)
Acknowledgment of claim - Nov 27
Interview, fingerprints and work permit- Jan 11
Yes, she did get her work permit today. It was a pretty simple process. She surrendered her passport, gave fingerprints and then were asked to come back in 2 hours for an interview. But it really wasn't an interview they explained that the claim has now been referred to RBC. Happy to answer any other questions but don't be anxious, they're really nice and it was an easy process!
Thank you so much! Haha I was waiting for you response! I just got a job offer and they were nice enough to wait for ircc so I'm relieved I'll possibly get mine as well next week.

You entered canada through border and claimed asylum over there?
My mother entered canada on 1st of May 2023 through border. Her boc was submitted on 25th of June. Still we waiting for decision. She received less complex file review letter in September. And now complete quietness

Hi
Can anyone tell me how much time is consuming for asylum decision.
I have submitted my asylum case in May 2023.
Its 8th month going on. Can anyone plz tell me how much more time is required for approval.
I am really worried. I need it approved as early as possible. My lawyer gave me 7 to 8 months and its 8th month now.
My husband and 4 little kids are in my home country. I can't understand, what should I do now
Unfortunately no one can tell you how much longer you will be waiting. Some people wait well over a year for a hearing. I assume you are still waiting for your hearing?
