Hey guys,
I saw this old post regarding letter from client.

Now my confusion is that there would be many people working for Software companies from India and are here in Canada to work for clients. They may be on LMO's or ICT's.
I am in a same position i.e. I work for an Indian company and am here to work for a client. My employer (Indian Company) has agreed to provide me with the reference letter as per CIC's format. They would mention the responsibilities, hours, salary etc...
Do you think that I should also get a letter from the client with similar roles and responsibilities...
If letter is not possible, can an email from my Manager (CLient side) will do???
Please share your experience....

Although a Client Reference letter is not required, but a letter listing duties, hours from a client might prove to be very valuable. A printout of the email and signed by the manager on a company letter head and stamped will suffice.

Would the letter provided by your Indian employer have an Indian address and phone number on the letterhead? If CIC wants to contact your supervisor to confirm your duties would they need to call India?
That's the issue with this class of applicants and that's why
Canadian client's reference letter becomes necessary.
The letter from your company should suffice. The letter head should have company name, address, email address mentioned on it.
I agree with "thisisauser"
If the reference letter provided by your "Indian" company has Canadian address, phone number and contact, then this reference letter should suffice (which probably is), If in case, if the reference letter has Indian company's address and phone number from India, then probably, a letter from the client (which obviously will have the Canadian address) certainly helps a lot.

No the letter would have the Canadian Head office address, phone number, website etc..... There would be contact details of the HR manager (again based in Canada). The company is well known and has a good client base in Canada.
Now do you think that letter from the Client is required?
Also if should my employer say that I have been performing the mentioned responsibilities for my company (Indian Employer) or can they mention that I have been working for CLIENT X and doing the following responsibilities. Something like this:
This is to confirm that Mr. ABS is employed full-time in the capacity of Senior Consultant with our company (Indian COmpany Name) since XXX (Date). Since XXXX (date) he has been working in City, Province Canada. His annual salary is $ 99999999 CDN per annum.
ABS has been working with our client CLIENT NAME where (Indian Company Name) has been chosen to act in system integrator role for PROJECT NAME project
His main duties and responsibilities while in Canada included:
Yup, should be fine.
You dont a reference letter from the client and it is okay to mention the client name in the reference letter.

Do not send client letter - it is not required.
If you are not able to get letter from your employer then you can include that as a supporting document

As long as your parent company has offices in Canada and the letter provides an address and contact number in Canada, you don't need to provide a client reference letter.
