My husband's interview is on August 10 in Stockholm, Sweden. His application is at the London, UK office.

Here's our problem. His medical expires on September 14 (exactly 5 weeks after his interview) .... when should he redo his medical???????? After the interview? should he wait and ask the officer at the interview since the medical would still be valid at that time...?!?!?

Re doing of medical is quite the touchy situation ...Some (very few) have stated that they have redone meds No problem ...Others not so lucky ...I was advised by Jamaica (our embassy) our MP and also CIC that if meds expire its up to the HC to request them ...Special forms are sent to you were you take them to the des DMP ...I would wait unil the interview ask ....and see what they say ..You may recive visa before they expire ...

My adivce wait and ask

I also would advise you to wait and ask at the interview. If they are close to finalizing the application, they also have the authority to extend the expiry date of the medical.

I would wait until a new medical is required..Immigration will be aware that his medical is about to expire and quite often try to avoid the need to redo the medical..however I am not 100% sure but I think he is required to land before the medical expires!

Thanks everyone.

Yes, the medical must be valid when he lands in Canada - hence our very, very tight timeline!

bobshynoswife: can I ask you how you know that they have the authority to extend the date of a medical? I haven't heard of this before! and would definitely be helpful if it's the case.
