Hi everyone, I have been sponsored by my wife and we went to interview and our application is approved. Now at interview Visa officer told me you need to do medical again as previous one is expired and also you need to do RCMP fingerprints. She said she will send instructions for it. But they didn't send any instructions yet nor any thing changed on ecas( just saying application received on x date and interview scheduled on x date). She told me once medical is done it will take around 3-4 months to clear it.

Now my question is should I redo my medical without waiting for cic to send me instructions( last medical is expired since september 2012)? They usually send a form with instructions which we need to fill up and take to doctor( but is it necessary to take that form why can't it be done the way we do first medical upfront for spousal application). Would it be difficult to locate medical if I do without them emailed me about that?

Also suggest me when should I do RCMP fingerprints? Should the results be send straight to cic or to my home address first and then I send it to cic.

please tell me what you would do in my situation.

all replies would be really appreciated.

thanks

Wait for CIC to give you instructions for the medicals as they might not need the full set of medicals, and it will be difficult to locate them if you go ahead on your own.

If you haven't heard from them, send them an email and ask about the re-meds. Explain that you had the interview and you were told that the re-meds instructions will follow, and so far you didn't get anything.

For the RCMP - I'm not sure, somebody else will probably comment.

Thanks sweden,

But all my communication is done by my lawyer and he said its too early to ask them. I dont know what to do just don't want to wait months for medical request and then it further takes 3-4 months.

immigration is a waiting game and there is not much to do about it. So - if your lawyer doesn't want to contact them, you probably have no other option than give it a month or two.
Good luck,

Hi nsr

Can you please help us? We have interview on august 14
We decided to redo medical on our own in March and i have been emailing LA but they could not find it.
Then they asked me the doctor name and the exact date may be they can locate now. Do you think we saved three to four months?
Were your security and background checks done before interview? We ordered notes back in june and at that time they were not done. We also ordered updated fbi which we have not received it yet.

Hi Ambber29

I hope and wish that you saved 3-4 months. Try to provide them as much information as possible that can help them locate medicals. Good thing you have about 2 weeks in your interview and I hope they find it before that.
There is nothing you can do now about this, so my suggestion is to focus on your interview, don't worry too much about medical and keep your fingers crossed.

If your notes said they haven't started background and security then it won't be started until you pass your interview.

For background and security check, as far as I know I think they don't do anything until you pass your interview. Once you clear your interview then it mean you pass the eligibility. Once eligibility is passed then they start background and security check. It can take minutes, hours, days for this step. It depends in how many countries you stayed in? The more the countries the longer it can take.

On my interview, I was approved right way and she told me she is sending new medical instructions to me but it took 2 weeks to get that instruction. So I believe it took 2 weeks for my background and security check. My status updated to IN PROCESS after 2 weeks and on that it says the date they started working on my file(that was 12 days from my interview date)

If you need any other info about interview at LA office, you are welcome. Also I posted interview questions that I prepared on a thread " spousal interview questions". I will suggest you to go through that.

Hope that helps

Good luck
Nsr
