Thanks for your advice. I had decided earlier to apply with a buffer of least 30 days but this unplanned travel is making me think twice of that decision. I want to avoid another stay outside Canada before applying hence could go with only 10 days buffer.

Your decision. I think it's better to apply when you are in Canada and not departing the next day. I especially would avoid doing that if there is a chance you will remain abroad longer than a few weeks.
Hello everyone, I finally submitted my citizenship application today with a buffer of 32 days. Thank you to everyone on highlighting the importance of a buffer of least one month.

I'll be interested in hearing how your case goes, a family member will submit in the new year and we're considering how much buffer for their case.
Travel is quite frequent - 2/3 times a month due to work, although some periods without travel - but short trips, resulting in only one day absence a trip, usually. Only occasional longer trips, like a week or so at a time. That said, quite confident that trips are being tracked and recorded properly (at our end).
BTW in your case above - I was more concerned about the optics of applying and then leaving on a trip for a month right away. I can't say whether my concern is warranted.
Hi @armoured, I forgot to update that my India trip got cancelled hence I was saved from loosing more Inside Canada days. I had got Canada Entry dates using ATIP request and used that to tally my own physical presence calculation before submitting the application.

Yes. I just mean that I don't think the 30 days is anything magic, and that part of the context of your case as previously stated - applying before leaving for a longer trip - was what fed into my recommendation to wait until 30 days. I think in a lot of cases less than that is fine (allowing of course for other aspects).
