Citizenship timeline: Open the spreadsheet and go to August 2017 applicants, my name is Scorph, city Abbotsford BC
I applied for Passport at Surrey Passport Office
I’m from a sub Saharan African country
Hi Scorph..from a shithole country to shithole cities, Abbotsford and Surrey, hahahahahahaha..just joking!! Well done and hello from Vancouver (slightly shithole)
I received my passport today exactly 7 business days after applying. Flawless service !!!
Let me tell you something: Canadian Passport looks stunningly beautiful aside from being among the most powerful passports in the world !!!
I received a notice from Canada Post yesterday to collect a parcel that requires my signature. Then I went there today after work. I quickly walked home as the pick up location is merely 7 minutes walk to my door.
Then I opened the envelope and saw what I dubbed the BEAST lol. It looks so beautiful.
I then checked my personal information to make sure everything is in order. Then I signed it on page 3 as requested. But I didn’t fill out page 4 where they ask the address and a contact who will not be traveling with you.
I applied for the 10 years passport.
I started my citizenship application on August 15, 2017 ( date I mailed my application) and everything concluded today on May 8th, 2018, exactly 8 months 3 weeks !
As a so called shithole country passport holder, let me enjoy the freedom to be a Canadian!
Good luck to all whose applications are still pending!

I applied for mine on 05/01/2018,, at Montreal office ,, lady said I shall expect it between 15th till the 18th ,, and if I did not receive by 05/18/2018 I would call the passport Canada contact No# on the receipt
I applied for mine on April 30. My receipt said I should expect my passport to be mailed on May 14. My passport was at my front door on May 7. Only 7 days turn around? Yeah, I'm happy about that! Officially Canadian. It feels incredible!
Expect secondary screening/check if going to the usa, it won't be as long as before (which is good) but yeah traveling elsewhere should be easier.
Ofcourse expect them to treat u the same until u show them passport then their expression changes.
but yeah its always good when u no longer need to deal with IRCC and its slowness.

For those of you like myself who have travel plans dangerously close to the oath ceremony - it seems like waiting for 2 business days before applying for a passport is more of a precaution than anything. I received my citizenship on Friday morning last week and on Monday morning I went to apply for a passport and the clerk verified that I was already registered in the system. At the ceremony the CIC staff mentioned that you should not apply for a passport for at least three business days, so it really seems like CIC is just giving themselves extra time in case someone goes on a 4 hour lunch and does not do data entry for the day. So once your ECAS status changes to "complete" it's worth the shot to drop off your application - worst case scenario the clerk will say that you are not in the system yet and you can come back later.
