Everyone who is approved gets this. Read the email carefully and follow the instructions to mail your passport (or passport copies if you are from a visa-exempt country) and photos to the indicated visa office with a self-addressed return envelope. They will send you your Confirmation of Permanent Residence document, which is evidence that you've been approved for permanent residence, and approve your application online. You will then have to get your CoPR signed before its expiration date in order to officially become a permanent resident.
You can either go to the border and "flagpole" (turning around and re-entering Canada immediately after entering the states-- call ahead if you're going to do this because some of these places limit the days and times they allow this to happen) or schedule an appointment at an office within Canada. Only flagpoling requires you to (technically) leave and re-enter Canada.
