Nice thinking buddy (1+1=2). As far as CIC is concerned, they offer PGWP based on only 1 course (Ur eligibility fr PGWP fr ur frst course will expire after 90days of completing ur course)
6months or 1yr course = 1yr PGWP
2 yrs or 3yrs course = 3yr PGWP
I was easily able to extend my study permit within Canada (completed 6months course and extended fr another 3yr course, all they need is ur proof of funds and a letter frm ur college). One more thing if u make use of ur PGWP after a 1yr course, u will not be eligible fr another PGWP even if u pursue a 2yr course after using up ur 1yr PGWP (Only one shot is given @ ur PGWP, so be wise).
One more small trick, which helped me during my education (Take up a 2 yr course and try to get credits fr upto 1yr,in this way u will satisfy CIC's requiremet to complete a 2yr course and will also be eligible fr 3yr PGWP). This one really helped me to reduce my fees.Best of luck
Thnks for the correction. Ur right, it is 8 months and not 6months (I did my PM course from Jan 2009 - Aug 2009). It's been a long time since I got graduated
Many of them said if i complete my first year & again in continuation i do my 1 more year which is like 1+1 two consecutive yaer so its becomes 2 years and than after this is go for work permit i m eligible for 3 years or not please guide on such matter
Fr CIC all that matters is wht is on their website and not wht everyone says. Do u understand wht we r trying to say? u have only 90days to apply for PGWP after completing a course. Doing another 1yr course will automatically make ur frst 1yr course ineligible fr PGWP,if u fail to apply within 90days and will not in anyway make u eligible fr 2yrs or more PGWP.
The link scorpion_ca posted explains this clearly. If u still have questions on this issue I would suggest u to call CIC (or) consult a lawyer.
I do understand, this is an easier route, but CIC gives a damn ( Ur cribbing abt 1 yr, I have 5yrs of Canadian work experience that is not counted since this was done on my Off Campus permit, everything was managerial and professional jobs. I have to wait till Jan 2016 to show 2yrs Canadian experience. This is the same scenario for many students, so stop cribbing abt it and start to live with the reality).
