Ready for visa: To send or not to send US passport

Hi,

I received the email to send passports for visa. Me and my spouse have passports that need visa to enter Canada, so we are sending our passports. But my child is a US citizen. Should I send the passport or just a photocopy.

You have to send everyone passport, regardless of one doesn't require visa.
The only scenario you wouldn't have to send passport if everyone is US citizen, which is not your case.

UPDATE: I posed this entire query to CIC and received reply that they only need a photocopy of my child's passport.

Send yours and your wive's, only send in a phtocopy of your son's.
