I do have a Working Holiday Visa and I am currently staying in Montréal. I would like to take a trip to New York City but my Visa says "This does not authorize Re-Entry".

No, and you hold a PERMIT not a visa. A visa is an entry document required by citizens from countries who are not visa exempt. If you don't require a visa to enter Canada, there is no problem.
