Re-entering Canada After applying for new card and leaving

I landed yesterday, went through customs very smoothly. The only thing I was asked was, after the officer saw that I was issued a card only recently (after second review), was whether it took so long to issue one because of the residency obligation, and I said that I fulfilled the obligation when I applied. He didn't ask or say anything about fulfilling the obligation when I landed (yesterday).
