Hi I have received RCMP request. Please see the below message i got from CIC
Date: August 20, 2013
My UCI: XXXXXXXX
Application: XXXXXXXXXX
Dear my Name:xxxxx
This is in reference to your application for permanent residence in Canada. In order for us to continue the processing of your application, we require the following documents:
Spouse UCI XXXXXXX - My Spouse name:
RCMP Criminal Record Check: provide a certified criminal record check . For detailed information please visit: http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/cr-cj/fing-empr2-eng.htm
As per the mail they have indicated RCMP check only for me wife. Did they forget to ask it for me?. Is that normal. Do you guys think i should also do RCMP Check.
Please confirm urgently
Thanks
If it's only requested for your spouse than I'd suggest you get the record check for your spouse

Thanks. Any one with similar case?. please reply to confirm
I think it is normal. It was the same case for me but we did not get MR yet. In fact first CIC sent me a general request to do RCMP but again in few minutes I got another email stating in RED it is not required for you, only for your spouse. Btw my spouse's passport has both Given Names & Sur Name clearly specified.
Did you send the RCMP, how did you do that. by yourself of by the agency?
Is RCMP requested for everyone? We have provided the police certificate.

CIC automatically does name-based RCMP checks for all all applicants. Your name apparently cleared; your wife's did not. So someone with the same name as your wife has a criminal record, that is why a fingerpint-based clearance is required.
You do not have to do this, but she does, if you want PR.
You should find a service that does electronic fingerprinting, it will be processed much more quickly.

Interesting piece of information. I did not know that 8)

Agency sends the finger prints to RCMP, RCMP checks for existence of finger prints in their records, if no match found RCMP issues clearance directly to CIC. Please ensure name, file id, dob etc are entered correctly when giving the finger prints.
Thanks guys, really appreciated.
Hi guys
Once again just to make sure
What i understood is that, The private agency will take the fingerprint, then they send it to RCMP then RCMP to CIC. Is that correct?
Please clarify
