I don't think it will be a problem...you have one good year to go. Get it renewed at the Indian embassy later in Canada

A bit offtopic but I need some guidance my passport is getting expired on nov-2018 and I received ITA on 20-Sep 2017, so by the time passport is asked for ppr it will be less than 1 year since expiration. Will that cause an issue or should I go for passport renewal?

I just checked that as well but India has rule that says u can renew your passport only when 1 year time is remaining from expiry. So in my case I can apply for renewal only after 24-nov-2017.

I checked same with passport office as well.

Not a good idea to have less than a year until the expiration of your passport when you leave for another country.

Another thing that can be done is renewing your passport before getting PPR and updating CIC when you have the new passport in hand.

Can I write LOE while submiting my file and then on 24-Nov I can apply for premium passport renewal service which will take 2-4 days max and then I can upload new passport in additional documents column.

You can write an LOE with your PR application if you want but I don't think it's necessary.

When you get a new passport you can raise a CSE and update your passport.

Read up about Case Specific Enquiry (CSE) on the CIC website. I haven't raised it so far so I'm not exactly sure how it's done.

Raising a CSE is not known to impact your application negatively. Good luck.
