Are you talking about working in SG? I am from SG too... never had to go through a multi level interview stage for job application though..

I am generally referring to interview stages in Asia . In SG,yes its usually one stage.This is due to the fact that actually recruiter does most of HR's job during short listing and salary is negotiated in advance.
In my domain, usually phycometric test is norm. in SG too but it's pc app based and not verbal.
