Yes, the influx of candidates per day spiked between 24 May and 7 June (281 p/d 451+) whereas it has been as low as 212 p/d in mid April. Best estimate is a 460 cut-off and worst case is 462, but that changes if the ITAs increases. So a lot of variables, which makes it an informed guess. The best case scenario would be if the website goes down for a week or two before the draw to limit the number of people entering

Ya that’s true.
But from recent trends of high influx of good score candidates and very less clean up of 460+ from last draw, it looks like that 460+ are not very less, however we don’t know the exact figure of 460+
BTW, thanks for nice and logical way to express disagreement!!
Friends,
Pls stop linking maintenance notice with a draw.
What is a draw:
1. It simply sorts the candidates in descending order of their CRS score.
2. Pick first 3350 candidates and send them pre configured email notification
This is very simple process, no or little intelligence, not a single click is required.
We in India do these steps every day (365 days) through automated jobs for millions of banking records( cic database is having few thousand records)
How many of you think that with today’s technology someone has to bring whole system down to do this?
If it is so , it is shameful.
System has to be brought down only in case u want to incorporate new code , class files etc, not for a regular activity like draw.
Even for new code deployment, downtime is not required these days. However, since we don't know whats behind the scene and no clue about their db, its not wise to comment anything on it. Select Top 3350, is way too simplified query for a cic process.
As per the below thread in 2017, people observed that if there was a maintenance notice then there would not be a draw that wednesday. Just the opposite of what we are noticing now a days. So looks like there is no correlation. We will have a draw tomorrow.
Things are expensive, and so are high taxes. I am currently a student at Universitry of Toronto, i know Industry professionals. My cousins too work at deloitte, they moved here from the States due to H1B problems. Sadly it is the fact. Canada's economy is still growing. Expecting 90K is a false dream in Canada. The average MBA salary in Canada is 74000. Even top UOFT graduates start of at 75K, 90K if you have 5 or more previous work years experience.
Agreed, it is very expensive in Canada compared to the US, but the numbers are not as pathetic as you think. I myself moved from US to Canada and I was given the same salary, for same employer. Its all about your profile. A good tech profile, can easily fetch what you have mentioned above. One of my friend, a cloud architect, is earning 100/hour. Can you believe it? Ofcourse, he is a consultant...
