Got their call this afternoon. They asked my job title and start date.

Great, but for me, my job contract expire May 1, and my app is from Feb 3rd.
Hope that they work fast and call me today or tomorrow.

No worries you will get your nomination as your work permit is about to expire so they will make sure not to break any rules and your legal status. Did you apply for an ainp under srs pgwp in 02/2017?

Are your employer going to extend your contract then? The reason is that when you apply to cic they might still want to be employed,,,

No.
Technically not necessary because SRS-PGWP not require a permanent full-time position. You just need to be working while the decision is made.
After that, the decision is already made.
