I will be an exchange student during the winter term at a Canadian university. I have got the letter of acceptance from them and I have valid French passport (I'm French).
The term will last less than 6 months (as indicated on the letter of acceptance) so I will not any visa or study permit from what I have understood. I would like to be sure though. Are my valid passport and the letter of acceptance I have sufficient for me to enter Canada?
Also, do I need any proof of financial support even if I do not have a visa or a study permit?
What kind of proofs of financial support would I need? I found a few proofs there (cic.gc.ca/english/study/study-how-documents.asp#doc3) but which would I need to show? By the way, I have enough funds in my account to live in Canada according to the criteria listed in that web page. I won't have a bank account opened in Canada as I will stay there only 4 months.
Also, some other questions about this:
-My bank statements are in Euro ; is it ok to show bank statements in Euro ?
-I do not pay any tuition fees to the Canadian institution I am doing my exchange to as I am doing an exchange and therefore won't be able to supply any proof related to the Canadian institution ; will the Canadian visa officers understand it?
-Do I need to supply a proof that I am paying the tuition fees of my institution in France?
-It is my parents who help me finance my education. Is it OK to have them write a letter for me? Should it be in English or French is OK?
-Would an official letter written by my bank stating the amount of the funds I have be a good proof?
