Question on sponsor's passport

Hello, my husband (sponsor) is a PR and I am living in India. His passport is expired and for him to renew the passport he has to submit a copy of the landing papers (mandatory) which he submitted to the immigration when he landed the first time. Now he has applied for a copy and it says it takes between 3-6 months to get it,

1. Is it possible to apply spousal visa with his expired passport (his PR is not expired)

2. Is there anyway to get the landing papers early.

You can get a copy of CPR or copy of recording of landing or VOS should be fine that’s equal to a Landing paper . Mail in the application and Write Urgent on the envelope .
