A question for anyone that can give us some info.

I am sponsoring my wife from Philippines I am a Canadian Citizen.

We applied with Consultant at the end of March 2016 Her latest work permit would expire The end of May. We assumed that because the application was submitted she would still be in status. However the application was returned to us in July because the consultant forgot to have us sign a paper. We sent everything back along with restoration and we have an AOR of july 8th 2016. Then we were told to pay the owp fee again because they couldnt find it. It was paid in the original application.

So here we are almost 10 moths later and no OWP just ecas says in process says application received July 8th.

Any idea how long we should wait for owp

Thanks

BTW I cant access mycic because we have a consultant so cant link anything. That makes no sense as consultants just say wait 26 months and then call.

Unfortunately it sounds like the restoration was not processed. OWP's take around 4 months to receive. If you are out of status at the time they receive the application, you'd have to wait for first stage approval (AIP) to get the OWP.

How long does AIP usually take and is from the time of application letter with file number?

What day did they receive your app again? Is the July 8th date the day they got it or the day they sent you a letter? The time counts from when they received the application. Right now they are working on giving AIP to December 2015 applicants...they are working speeding up the process, so it's really hard to say how long it would take. At the rate they are going, by the time you get AIP, you'd probably be landing soon after and not need the OWP.

We got a letter with file number on july 8th 2016 and ecas says received application July 8 2016.

The consultant asked for GCMS notes jan 12 2016 that probably wont tell us anything will it.. Is it worth a call to cic to find out if they will issue owp??

thanks again

Interesting ecas says they got your app on july 8th which is the same day you got your letter. Are you use the date doesn't say they started processing it on July 8th?

Yes, you can call CIC...they should be able to tell you why it hasn't arrived yet. The notes probably wont mention the OWP...as it's a separate application and not really linked to the Spousal app, except that you have to have an Spousal PR app in to get it. You consultant has a portal they can use to link your apps as well--since you are not able to.

ok i got letter dted aug 24 with file number. automated acknowledgment of receipt saying they received 08/07/2016

Okay...so you are a July 8th applicant and had AOR on August 24th....it could be a while yet until you hear....but i'd think sometime over the summer.

Who couldn't find the OWP fee? IRCC or the consultant?

If it was IRCC requesting it, then it's their mess up and maybe they didn't send it out to you for some reason. If they were requesting the fee, logic says they were in the midst of processing it. It's been too long now you need to at least phone there and get some info. They can tell you over the phone what's happened with your wife's status.

Use the application number to link or log in to the online status.

I can link to ecas but not mycic because i have a consultant so t wont ley me link the account unless I remove her. And i am thinking about that because we get no help. All this is because she didn't complete the forms properly and have a completed application
