So I'm finishing up my application for spousal sponsorship and we are putting all of our pictures together for proof of relationship. I got a great deal through shutterfly so I had all of my pictures printed through them and mailed to me. I originally planned on writing on the back of each picture the details such as date/event/who's in the photo/etc. However, after reading some other posts, it seems like the better, more organized option would be to print the pictures off in a word document so that the description and pictures can be more easily viewed/organized and less hassle for scanning by CIC. My question is this: would it be okay to tape 2-3 pictures to a piece of paper with the picture info beside or below them? (hope that makes sense) Or should I just go ahead and keep the pictures I had printed by shutterfly for myself and re-print the pictures at home in a word document like several others on the forum have done?
It's fine to just write on the back or stick them to paper, no need to reprint them. Don't worry too much about organisation outside of what the instructions tell you to do, as everything will be ripped apart anyways. We didn't even write on our pictures.
No tape! Too fussy, things can fall off and then that will make it worse.
I sent 25-ish photos printed at the pharmacy, real photos, 3x5-inch. I wrote on the back with a non-smudging pen the date with a short caption about where the photo took place and comments about who else was in the photo besides my partner and me (e.g. "We went to dinner with my parents." or "Ice-skating with some friends.")
Just don't have the photos in an album or book. I'm pretty sure that some human being at CIC has to feed each page/photo through a scanner, so flat sheets of paper are the best (so no staples, the guide says that "paper clips will do" or something).
