I have a question and I don't really know the answer to this after months of searching. I am both Italian citizen and Argentina citizen and I want to go to Canada. I understand Argentinians need to apply for visitor visa but Italians can stay up to 6 months*. If I am coming from Argentina, could I not just show my Italian Passport rather then applying for visitors visa? Would the fact that I have dual citizenship interfere with me entering the country for visiting purposes?

Yes you can stay up to 6 months but it depends on the officer at customs when you cross the border - if you are lucky he will just stamp your passport, and then you have six months from that date. It is however the customs officer is having a bad day he might decide to write less than six months in your passport. This happened to my friend from Mexico - they gave him only 6 weeks!
I have done this once already but thats when I flew in from Italy. Now I am flying from Argentina and I was a little nervous of them asking for my Argentina passport since I was coming from Argentina. However, I always travel with my Italian passport.
My first entry to Canada I had no return flight. I just told them where I was going, and how much money I brought and told them I had a credit card and they stamped my passport no questions.
You're correct though....I have heard other stories. Its the luck of the draw!
