I know that I need a permit expire in 4 month to be able to apply for the BOWP, but the problem is I have a LMO permit with a company I no longer work for and the LMO permit is not expire till 2015 Feb.
I'm in this awkward situation that I'm getting EI, but hard to find a company will get me a new LMO permit.
What should I do? Is there other way around?
ps. I just recently got my AOR.

There may have been cases under the old operational bulletin 485 (Bridging Open Work Permits for Certain Federal Economic Class Applicants) where the visa officer granted a BOWP with more than four months left on the old permit, at his/her discretion.
The recently updated OB 485A has added a new section that restates that four month limit more definitively:
Please note the following foreign nationals do not qualify for a bridging work permit:
...
Foreign nationals whose work permits are valid for longer than four months and/or already have a new LMO that can be used as the basis for new work permit application

This would seem to remove the VO's discretion on this matter, although it probably doesn't hurt to try anyway.
My work permit was issued in may 2013 and it expires in april 2014. It says LMO valid for 1 year but my passport expires in april which is why it's a month short.
Anyone know that if I apply for BOWP in december it might get rejected even though it'll be 4 months before my work permit expires but 5 months before my LMO expires?
