When i call cic the automated service saysbackground check in process.
I haven’t received any ppr email.
Is it normal?
What are my chances of getting through?

I am from india. My ecas status is descion made. When i call then the automated messge says says the same as you.

AOR: Feb 2018
Police clearance certificate wanted : March 2018
MR: March 2018
MR passed : Apr 2018
Background check started: May 2018

no updates since then.

Hi! Don’t worry, from what I analysed, it takes more or less 8 months from MR to get a reply

Yes, it is mandatory it should be fine. I don’t know for sure how the background security check is performed but i guess they have to hand your profile to a security service who will perform an in-depth scanning of your record. Once they are certain you are no threat and are not subject to any law suit, they will clear your application. However, that is only my guess for why it takes so long to get the passport request after MR.

Why did it took so long and you were requested for an another medical then?

Actually my medical expired on 15 Sep, 2018. and my file didnt reach Decision Made stage. so after medical expire they issue remedical request on 02 Oct, 2018. My background started on 15 Oct, 2018 and DM on 16 Oct, 2018 and then after got PPR today.

Hope everyone get MR/DM/PPR very soon.

Actually my medical expired on 15 Sep, 2018. and my file didnt reach Decision Made stage. so after medical expire they issue remedical request on 02 Oct, 2018. My background started on 15 Oct, 2018 and DM on 16 Oct, 2018 and then after got PPR today.

I have exactly the same timeline as you and I also got 'Decision Made' but no email or any confirmation. My CIC account still says 'In process'.
