I applied in mid July 2018, my medicals were approved on Dec 2, 2019 and have not heard back.
Yesterday was one year that my medicals were approved, so I went into my account and noticed a ghost update (notation that my file was updated but no changes). I only noticed that the notation that my medicals were approved disappeared. It also now says they will let me know if they need them.
People in the Facebook group said this happened when their medicals “expired” and later on were extended to the same date but on 2020 -for example, approved Dec2, 2020. I checked today and is still as yesterday (no medicals)
I agree with you said above. If you are inland your medical will be extented very possible. However if you are ouland you may need to wait for re-medical.

For government and immigration, you are a resident after you are a permanent resident.

Last year I came back from work week-long trip and at the YUL airport, they asked me where I resided in and I told him that I was a "temporary resident" here, after which they passed me to the second review and then the agent explained to me what until now I was not resident for them and you can say resident only when you are a permanent resident. When he told me that, I told him but I have lived here for more than three years and I have my job and my children at school, after which he told me "you only have a work permit." After that I don't even mention that I am a temporary resident, I just tell them that I have a work permit.

But in general we were treated as Québec residents any many cases. For tax or insurance purposes.

I wanted to share what happened to me just to avoid any mistakes from any of us.

You did well!
But I think that if they mean PR they should write it clearly.
Temporary or permanent we are residents!

Nowadays its called virtual landing. Once they sent the COPR then that's complete landing process and no need to go to any cic office or boarder to complete the landing process . the next step is to sent photos for PR card. There is new portal coming in next couple of weeks to sent the photos electronically to process the PR card and this will reduce time further.
