I have a very unique situation and I was wondering if someone here can shed some light.
I have recently immigrated to Canada ( January 2019). I currently live in Ontario.
The rule is that I need to provide 3 years of tax history before I can sponsor my parents. However , in Quebec , the requirement is that I only need to provide 1 year.
Does this mean that , I can sponsor my parents in 1 year if I move to Quebec even though I have lived in Canada for less than 3 yeatrs
Lets assume I move to Quebec in October this year. This means that I have to file Quebec taxes for 2019 and I subsequently became a Quebec resident.
Does this make me eligible to sponsor my parents when the 2020 application opens up ? I've seen conflicting information on this forum.
My basic question is do Quebec residents have the privilege of sponsoring parents WITHOUT living 3 years in Canada ? Any input is appreciated.

Don’t think you would be considered a Quebec resident if you only moved in October. We are about to have a federal election so the PGP program could change dramatically. It could change even if the Liberals win. The CAQ is overhauling the Quebec immigration system so nothing is guaranteed there either. Move to Quebec if you want to live there not for guaranteed sponsorship because it isn’t guaranteed. Also not a unique situation.
