Hi Nikhil,
You have given a lot more info than their website.. Thanks.
Could you pls help me with following queries as I couldn't find any clear info on Quebec official website.
Q1. Is it mandatory that our work experience should be aligned with education/field of study even if we have sufficient experience say, more than 12 years?Ex:- if I have an engineering degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering and I have more than 12 years of experience in IT/Software engineering(NOC 2173), am I still NOT eligible for RSWP?

Q2. If I have more than 2 degrees/diploma (3 years duration for each, both outside Canada), can I get points for each of the courses or ONLY for the highest degree? The official website lists points for each education types, but hasn’t explicitly mentioned if we can claim points for both.
1. Like I told, Quebec points system is bullshit & they do not follow what they say on their website verbatim. They generally follow those guidelines, but they do not publish the exact selection criteria or points in their website for the invited candidates. No one has any idea how they select people. But to your question, I do not think your degree & work should match. Mine did match, regardless of me being already working in Quebec in 2173 NOC, they made me wait 2 years to issue CSQ (this was during Liberals rule before they got defeated by CAQ). Liberals immigration dept were happily admitting illegal border crossers from Roxham border while we were waiting for our CSQ. Thats why Liberals got defeated by CAQ as Quebeckers were fed up with tax burdens pouring over from Roxham.

2173 is in demand occupation category in Quebec. So you might get priority in selection process. But be careful with Quebec immigration, they have cancelled 18,000 applications (a mess made by Liberals) just like that and have made new rules to apply new laws retroactively (Bill 9 ) , it means suppose you get invitation & then they make you wait for many months or even years and then they change rules, your application if does not satisfy new rules, it will be cancelled. Your time & money will be wasted. So be very careful & use Quebec as your last immigration option. You also have to keep in mind that getting a CSQ is half the battle, The other half is Federal stage.
Federal backlog & delays are now 22 months. You will have to wait 2 years more even if you get a CSQ. This is the current situation.

2. Highest degree only. If Masters, then Bachelors is implied right. Thats why.

With NOC 2173 & degrees why don't you check Express Entry or other PNPs like BC PNP, OINP, SINP, AINP, Atlantic Immigration & the new Municipal Immigration ? Also check for consultancies which does LMIA work permits in Ontario.

I am telling you, Quebec Regular Skilled Worker Programme is a mess after CAQ govt came. In a way they are cleaning up the big mess that Liberals created, but CAQ have also broken stuff in the process too.

It might improve or they will mess it up even further imposing more & more conditions till they can cherry pick white Europeans only.

Do not waste your time & money on Quebec immigration system.

Thanks a lot Nikhil for your detailed analysis . I ll try for Ontario job after a year .
So hope to see u soon in Montreal
If CAQ govt. fixes their immigration BS*** then you might be able to pursue your PR in Quebec itself thru Arrima portal.
Otherwise, it will be good to move to Ontario after 1 year. Good luck.

Do not make the same mistake as I did. Never ever come to Quebec on a LMIA temporary skilled work visa if you are not fluent in French. Your permanent residency will be delayed for many years. The current CAQ government is very anti immigrant and plays language politics & changes immigration policy every month to please their xenophobic voter base. The language & identity politics is very bad in Quebec.

Please go thru many threads in this forum. My advice for you is to never come to Quebec. Please immigrate to any other province using Express Entry. You cannot apply Express Entry from Quebec and your application will be rejected.

See my timeline in the signature. I have been waiting since 2017 for permanent residency in Quebec. If it was somewhere else in Canada, I should have got my PR within 4 or 6 months and should have applied for citizenship by now. Now that I fell into this trap, I am waiting patiently for my PR ever since.

DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE LIKE I DID.
HI ,
One quick question . My job offer is LMIA & CAQ approved. . Will it be considered as Validated job offer in order to claim the points in Quebec PR(Arima) ??
I am currently on 2 year temp work permit and planning to apply for Quebec PR

No it won't be considered, but it is easier to get a VJO.

No its not a VJO. VJO is another process. So you decided to get yourselves trapped in Quebec :). , Just look at my timeline in the signature.

Again, do not do it. Get out of Quebec. I moved out of Quebec right after I got my PR.
