I have applied for my study permit and my spouse open work permit and both of us have a work experience of more than 4 years. I have received a PhD offer at a univeristy in Quebec.
I wish to apply for PR immediately after receiving our permits.
But, in the points calculation for immigration, I found that there are additional points if you/your family memebers are living/ or lived in Quebec. So does this mean that I wait till I reach Canada and then apply for PR once Im there?
Will I get additional points if I am studying in Canada?
If your degree is written as Master of Information Technology then you are going to get full 12 points for masters degree. And for area of training, you have to check with your present job responsibilities as well.
Please assist me how to calculate New Quebec immigration point system.
I checked on website but it's little bit confusing.
Below mentioned calculations is appropriate or not.
• Undergraduate degree (full-time for 3+ years) (BE in Computer )- 10 points
• Areas of training Section A ( Computer engineer) 12 points
• More than 4 years (6.5 years ) - 8 points
• 18 to 35 years old (28 )- 16 points
• IELTS - 4 points ( Ielts score Overall 6.5 , L 7.5 , W 6.0 , R 5.5 , S 6.5 )
• FSS - 1 point
Total 51 (Threshold point is 50 for Single) - am I receive CSQ with marginal ahead to Threshold point?

First of all CONGRATS for your admission into the PhD program. Wish you all the best with the course.
As you have received admission for PhD, don't be hurry for PR. PhD students will go nowhere and Canada won't want you to go either. So first reach there start your course and apply for PR in peace.
Timeline for what? If you asking for processing!!! Then as of now what I know is, after the draw if you are lucky enough to get in then you'll have 90 days to apply for CSO then within 12 months you'll receive CSQ. Successfull CSQ holder then apply to federal section for PR.

Lol. I have completed my sentence before.
I’m interested to know the draw cycle timeline? How often the draw will take place?
And, also would be interested to know where on the Quebec official government website have they posted about the new EOI point system and breakdown.
I thought they said somewhere that the processing time for inland CSQ will be shorten to 6 months Think I read it all wrong. Anyways, do you think 60 pts is good enough ? I dont have any proficiency proof in French through.
