i have just given a call to BIQ and i asked about whether these rules are applicable to us or not. the guy over the phone said that there are two phases
1) AOR
2) file analysis
He told me that if ur file is analysed before 1 august then new rules will not applicable on u if not then it will be applicable on you. i said what do u mean by File analysis he said detailed study of your file , i said is it AOR he said no AOR is just a confirmation that we have received your file

The guy probably didn't understand it either, or he was just plain stupid. They say apply before 31st July with current rules....then from 1st August, new rules will apply for intake of applications....It means if one meets the criteria for submitting an application with the rules in place at any given time, the application will be accepted and even analyzed according to the rules in place at the time such application was made.
Why on earth would they extend intake of applications from MArch 31-July 31 with the current rules if the plan was to immediately implement the new rules?
It doesn't make sense to me.
As for me, there's absolutely no need to worry about these things, no need at all..........
Important updates would mean any update that gives you more points right? as in better language results, child addition, masters certificate???
The non-important updates would be any non-point-giving information perhaps???
I already called them and i spoke with a nice lady who said that applicants who submitted before will be subject to the old rules. And any application received on or after the 1st of August will be treated according to the new rules......She said i can check the website for these new rules.
But she was not rude at all. She was really very friendly.

I think when they received our file , they calculated our points according to the point system of that situation and regarding this they gave us file number, if the file would not meet the qualifying points the they returned it. you may find this case several times in this form . So it's my opinion that they will consider our points according to the point system of the AOR's date. but may be they will prefer the advance intermediate french knowledgeable immigrants.
So i think, it will be preferred , but not mandatory.
I have no doubts that the old rules will be applicable to all of us who already applied, and there's no need to worry about it. Let's hope for the better guys! Otherwise, that's gonna be freakin awesome ;D cause I'll have 7 points off for not having B2, and thus no interview waiver
