yes you are right a1 is beginner level,i am suggesting you that just start learning french now when you receive interview that time may be you are in B1 or b2 level of french and that time you will be very comfortable to clear the interview (if it required).
so you are living in ottawa try to find french institute near you and start learning now, because frecnch is not only to clear interview it is also easy to us to settle down in quebec.
N'inquiétez pas, ce n'est pas un test sur le Québec, c'est juste une entrevue afin de déterminer dans quelle mesure vous êtes prêt à intégrer dans la société québécoise.

Hi, can anyone help me, i want to know the difference between FSW and QSW. which way they are different to each other, by benefits or anything else. If i go for QSW can i live and work anywhere in canada or do i have to live in Quebec only. Can i apply even if i have a beginner class of French but no test results, would it help. I have done a Master Degree and my age is 25, a lawyer has suggested to me that i can apply...shall i go for it. And, what is the max points to acheive in it. pls advice...thank you.

How is your French? I took the TCF-Q and i am still awaiting the result. I am not very confident though, cos the exam was pretty tough for my basic french.

I want to pay fees for CSQ to BIQ ,Hong Kong through Bank Draft ,so here is the confusion that as I know the bank draft should be of
C$ 395 in favor of " Ministre des Finances du Québec " but I don't know ,where it should be payable at ? whether it is payable at Hong Kong or at Canada ?????????
One more confusion here is that the name " Ministre des Finances du Québec " is in french language ,so while making draft is there must be the spelling of " Québec " remain as is there or it's english spelling " Quebec " will do fine. I am asking this becs. I am afraid that the bank might not have that french fonts to enter in the draft.
