i think it is early for this question .. everything is still not clear
Guys..need your advice on situation where i did my education under NOC 2017 but had work experience under NOC 2173!!
(1)
Education : Bachelors in Computer Engineering (Bachelors - 4years completed 2009 in USA) ==> 10 points
(2)
Work Experience: Job Title- Software Engineer (October 2010-Dec 2011 in USA) ==> 4 points
(3)
Area of Training ==> 12 points (under new rules!)
Do i qualify for total of (10 + 4 + 12) points even though i did my education in computer engineering (NOC 2174) but my job title was software engineer (NOC 2173)??
In other words, do i miss out on any points because of difference between degree in computer engineering and job title as software engineer?
Thanks in advance for your advice!

Hi,
i think you reversed, 2173 is software engineer, 2174 - programmer/developer. for me also same issue, first company designation is software engineer, then after changed new employer my title was software consultant and now sr.software developer. But Software engineering might be design the system (incl architect, HLD, incl chip level - if i m not wrong). but in real case S/w engg, S/W dev, S/W consultant are doing same role (coding/programming). But i dont know how they treat us. sorry

by French Doctorate do you mean on the french language itself, or was the subject is some other but in french language ? you will anyway get 12 points for degree, and for AOT, no points if it is on French language itself, and anything more if you have doctorate in some other subject.
Hi,
We called the Montreal office yesterday and the person said, for people for whom the file was opened in 2012 will also fall under new rule. My thought is, if it is BIQ HK, they would have stopped processing the files sometime back due to the transfer, and i hope for all those who applied in 2011 the new rules will be applicable, since none of the file has been opened. So for 2011 indian applicants, probably the file is getting opened, and the new rules might apply. Hope it is logical.
AMR2011
Hello Everyone,
I called up Montreal Yesterday.
The Call centre exec asked did some verification by asking date of birth and my last name.
On asking about the status of my application she said, your application is in process you will be intimated about the interview by email.
Then i asked her if she would know on what stage of processing my file is, she didnt know.
She said my file was opened in nov 12.
I didnt ask her about if the new rules will apply or not.
I guess if your file is in process ,you are under old rule.

Hi,
Can anyone please tell us if photocopies of experience letters attested by Pakistan Notary Public are accepted by BIQ.
The website says the following:
But BIQ also says the following:
Could you please help us to understand that? Does that mean BIQ is not accepting photocopies of any documents attested by Notary Public Pakistan?
And if we send the original copies of experience certificates, marriage certificate, birth certificate etc will BIQ send us back all the documents? We are afraid if documents get misplaced it would be difficult to get them back.
Please help! Thank you.

the AOT has only the Physical Science in the list and this is the only one which is closely related to your qualifications, Not sure on how much point it can fetch you..though you have 12 points for your doctorate ...
Thank you Raza for this great help. But will the give us Experience letters back once application is completed? or They will keep it?

I sent them all originals and I am sure that they will return once my file will be assessed.
This shows that you are keen to move there.
Although it is risk but no harm in it.
Cheers

Thanks, yes both are diff.
Really crazy call center guys. Just now i called again to confirm my interview info and asked again my application status and all. Now diff executive (one guy) said, cant say me under new rule or old rule. May be old rule. just said its under process, cant say the tentative interview date right now.
wow diff people diff answer. i dont know really they are checking in the system or not.
Your education is BBA and MCA, both are fetching 6 points for principal applicant and 2 point for co applicant.
MCA falls under Computer Science (Bach.-3 years)
BBA falls under Business Administration (Bach.-3 years)
As per your previous posts, you may fetch 62 points(No priority)
You have much time for your interview, my advice to you is try to get B2 certificate before BIQ schedule an interview for you.
