Thank you both, we'll send in the question about her work permit update and see what they say. :)

Hi Vince,

Since it is the same UCI number (I was a student as well, then received my post-graduate work permit), I would assume that the processing center will see this in your record.
However, if I were you, I would take the initiative to call the CIC Call center and ask the question. Here is the link which provides the number to call.
cic.gc.ca/english/contacts/call.asp

Follow the steps on the automated response to talk about permanent residence applications. This will put you in touch with a representative who will open your file and answer your question(s).
I find that some reps are more helpful than others. If you do not get a clear answer the first time, then call back a few hours later and you will speak with another representative (this happened to me, and asking a second time worked).

Hope this helps!

Hi BajanCanadian,

We had issues trying to reach an agent on call today, but we sent an email with the enquiry (used the link from the AOR email and informed them about the work permit as well as her new employment offer, we uploaded scans of her work contract and work permit at the same time). Do you think that's ok or should we still try to get a hold of them on the phone?

Thanks for your help :D

Hi Vinc360,

If they have not responded to the email yet, I would say that you should still try to call them.
It wouldn't hurt, and they are usually quick to give you answers over the phone.

I just got Medical Request today.

My AOR was on Feb. 28, 2016.

It took less than 3 weeks to get MR. It is faster than believed.
I thought I would need to wait 2 or 3 months to get MR.

Thank you kindly, we'll make sure to give them a call on Monday to make sure the docs have been attached to the file :D

Amazing news! Hope it's the same for the rest of us :D That means we might get ours next week. At this rate we may get PPR much sooner than we thought! ;)

I was wondering... did you apply under PEQ? I wonder if this is what speeds up the process...

Yes
PEQ

However, I don't think this would speed up in federal stage.

Guys,
Do I need to know French to apply?
I am currently studying outside of Quebec (but in Canada), can I apply anyway?
I have enough points.
Thanks/

Hi Lisizi,

If you have enough points without the French, then you should be fine. I had enough points without the French, and placed ZERO French knowledge on the application. DO NOT BE TEMPTED to place "Basic" or "Intermediate" if your French is not good. They will ask you to do the exams, and you will have an interview in French if you do.
Much safer to stick with the points you have, and place no knowledge of French on the application (especially if your IELTS English tests show a very good grade(7-9)).

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if the Medical Request should appear on eCAS as well after receiving the request via email. And if so, how long should it take to show up on there after the request is received? I'm just wondering in case we miss the email, in case it goes to spam and gets deleted or something. Just a thought. Thanks in advance and good luck everyone :D

Hi everyone,

Did anyone ever have to change anything in their CSQ (like spelling mistake) etc. If yes then any idea how long does it take?

Thanks and have a wonderful day !
