Are you even in Canada? Once you apply and get your Ontario health card, you can register. You can’t just go to a clinic and find one. You need to find a doctor accepting new patients.
Thanks a lot for you patience , I would be moving to Scarborough, Ontario. can family doctor write prescription drugs that usually a specialist prescribes, I would be carrying prescription from rheumtologist from my country hope he can just refer that and prescribe it .
Most family doctors don’t usually prescribe your medication after initial prescription. The government wants a GP to do most of the prescribing because they are much easier to get an appointment to see versus a specialist. In Toronto you are probably looking at 3-6 months to see a rheumatoloigist although it’s unclear whether the wait periods may be shorter because of covid since many are avoiding going to medical offices.
Assume you have proof of a full-time job lasting over 6 months. Without that proof you won’t qualify for OHIP. Does you job include extended health benefits that will give you some medication coverage. Most of Canada does not have a pharmacare program so many end up paying for medications out of pocket.
