Hello Everybody,

I received this email today from VO Bucharest regarding the proof of funds:

"Dear Mr. XXXXX,
This refers to your application for permanent residence in Canada. In order to continue the processing of your application, please provide the following documents:
- Current proof of transferable funds equal to CAD 20,654 (Low Income Cut-Off for family of 4 persons) . The bank balance statement is not sufficient. Please note that you must show the provenience of the funds.
Please ensure that the above requested documents are sent to the Immigration Section of the Canadian Embassy within 30 days.
If you do not comply with the requirements within the time allowed, your application may be refused.
Best regards,
Immigration Section/Section d'immigration

Fax +40-21 307-5014 (immigration) / +40-21 307-5023 (visitors)"

In the application that I send to CIO Sydney I enclosed two bank statements that show deposits made in 2010 with the amount in USD well over the required one.

How should I prove that the money are actually my life savings?

Six month's bank statements would be a good option... Showing ur maintenance of the requisite funds over a pd of time. Remember, no windfalls r accepted.

Hello Qorax,

but my cash on hand is in u.s. dollars.. we are four in the family & my cash on hand is $6,000..

Thank you Qorax for your time :)

Usually NO.

1. The Declaration Card is one per family unit. In any case it's not of any consequence to ur landing. It's something that we fill everytime in any a/port.

2. If u have a Canadian job offer, in any occupation, under any format of procuring it, u don't need to demonstrate ur POF. But remember to carry the original offer letter on person.

Qorax

Heartly thanks

Hi, I am landing in Canada for my PR formalities. I have made draft in Australian Dollars as landing funds. Is it acceptable at the Canadian port as Landing funds. Regards

Does any one know if you need to show proof of funds if you are arriving in Quebec?

I will be applying to the federal through the Quebec program and only sent proof of finances to the Quebec authorities (well all they ask for is a signed letter stating that you have enough funds). As far as I understand there is no need to send POF with the permanent residency application to the federal government.

I want to carry some amount of GOLD with me is it count as landing funds. should i need any certificate from jewellar about its value. Or any other instruction? Please help me sir.

Dear Qorax
I withdrew all my funds for some investments after sending my full documents and now recently my e-case changed to In-process and will deposit the required amount for a family of 5 in my bank account in a few days, do you think it will effect my case with such a transaction please guide. Thank you

I have some gold, Whether it will be safe to travel along with the gold, or I should left it to any of my neighbour.

How did u do that?
The drafts r "payable in Canada" and AFAIK that could be either in CAD or USD.

The POF is for "funds", not for "assets" (movable or immovable).

Around meds they'd ask u again for the POF. As long as u can submit 6-months' bank statements then with the requisite funds maintain for long; and not thru a sudden huge deposit (windfall); u should be fine.

There's nothing inordinately "unsafe" about it. As long as u can save ur pps+COPR u should be fine about the Gold as well.

So it means I am not fine that's what you saying, it means I will be rejected and what do you think what will be their answer?

It means when ever they ask u again for POF (usually around meds) u should be able to show the funds under 6-months' bank stats. If I were u, I'd deposit the w/drawn funds asap in monthly installments and pray.

If its not six months but one month's statement then? I showed them three months statement along with my full documents to LVO
