I received ITA in December 2016. I am struggling with my Proof of Funds. I am single so the minimum amount I want to show is CAD 12000 which is USD 11000.

I am from Pakistan and studying in the US for the past two years. I have a $25,000 educational loan in Pakistan and $30,000 loan in the US. I am thinking of only showing my US account loan as $25,000 (is co-borrowed with my parents). Is it ok, if I show $20000 in my account as proof of funds? The $20000 is not my own but my parents are giving it to me as a gift. So I will show this with a gift deed.

Please tell me if I am on the right path?

As far as I know, Loan money can't be used as proof of funds. You can either show gift deed from parents or borrow money, put in your account for 6 months and get the statement.

I am in the same boat though. Pakistani, Single, in the US, awaiting ITA in next few months.

Would be nice to hear what others here have to say.

Since you have received ITA already the only possible solution you have now is to show gifted funds.
You cannot show loans as POF.

Let me rephrase this- I am not going to show my loans as proof of funds. However, CIC wants us to declare the liability we carry and I am not sure if I should show both the US loan and Pakistan Loan.

Thank you!

Check this out.

Students loan doesn't need to be showed.

As far as Gift Deed I think there are couple of thread you can check.

Can you please post link to any of such threads?

I am expecting ITA in the next draw and really need this POF thing sorted out.
