I am a Canadian citizen and sponsoring my husband who is Indian citizen but lives in US on H1B. My application was received on May 13,2011 and sponsorship application was approved on Jun 15,2011 and received in Buffalo on Jun 24,2011. Currently it states Medical records received. We have paid all fees and sent medical records and police reports.
Does anyone know how long it will be before they process the file in Buffalo? I know the processing time says 11 months but anyone gotten it sooner than this?
Quite a few people have gotten through faster, however many many from December last year are still waiting.
I know it is painfully difficult to not compare your timeline to others, but it would probably do your stress level well to plan for a long wait and then if you are suprised early, well ... that's just a big bonus.
I didn't wait very patiently... in fact I'm still not waiting patiently and we're at the end of the process. But I do have to say, I had the MOST anxiety from measuring my timeline against others who applied the same time or after I did.
So yea... it can certainly take 11 months... it can take even longer, and there is absolutely no way to anticipate if you will be one of the lucky ones who get accepted sooner.
Hope for the best, prepare for the worst and hopefully have a speedier than normal process.
It will do the checking for you. Updates come any time of day, any day of the week, including weekends sometimes. Take some of the stress off and let the tracker keep checking for you.
Although there are some of us who still check repeatedly despite having tracker set up... /blush
