Nov 2016 process in Canada
end nov 2016 process in colombo
Dec medical received colombo
Feb document request
March backround process
May 22 2017 got a email for photo and passport requsted to vfc with in 30 days
Totally it tooked to apporved 5 months

How long did background check line change ? I have noticed that for some people on this forum the background check keeps saying that " the file is in process and next step is to conduct background check" even after decision made. How was it for u? My application is in Srilanka visa office since April but background check line on mycic keeps saying " the file is in process and next step is to conduct background check". I am hoping they started it

When did u apply?
I applied in November,
Background check shows "your application is in progress. we will send u a message when we start ur background check"

I applied in May 2016... still waiting for passport request.

Applied December 2016 in Canada. Start Processing in SL end of December 2016. In February 2017submitted more documents and paid landed Fee.On-line services keeps saying applicant status - "In Process." and sponsorship status - "decision made". What will be the the next step? how long does it take to get the visa ?

is the GCKey only for online applicant? How about i applied through lawyer. Can't i check GCKey?

Gc key is not for online applicant. First you want create a account on cic website .
Then sign in and link your application

how many sites do we have to check our status? i only know cic website. it keep showing "in Process" since January.

We can track our application by 2 ways
1.ecas check
2.gc key login
Both way is maintaine under cic website.

Tks. i tried many times in gckey but i couldnt go thoroug it. i filled all the intimations correctly but finally it says "Based on the information you entered, we found no applications". i dont know what wrong with it. .

try this method
1. Log in with GC Key account
2. Permanent Residence - Family Class (Spouses)
2. Application Number and Family Name - Copy/paste application number from email (including the F) and enter PA's last name
3. City of Birth - enter 1 space (hit spacebar once)
4. Country of Birth - Select PA's country of birth
5. Passport Info - Do not enter any passport info
6. Other Application Info - Fill out the other application info as per your application and put '2' as the number of members in the application for sponsor + spouse (add +1 per dependents)
