Processing time for spousal visa - Sri Lanka

I tried to email yesterday to check the status after remedial & Police request..still they saying the standard answer like " File is in queue for officer review " I'm June 2015 applicant I don't how far it's going to drag!!!

Totally worried & don't know what to do

Congrats.....everyone vaish don't worry me to same july 2015 applicantion they ask me june remedical after nothing until I hope this month

When did the status change and when was the application submitted. Is this the person who you said that the status changed to DM?

Also did she get a phone call?

I don't know when did the status changed.. but they applied fees days after we applied.. we applied in the end of December so they might have applied in January.. no phone call, she has got E-mail..

An update for your benefit
My wife got a phone call followed by email next day (Jan 5) to submit pp and request for two ppphotos at the VFS office. The email had all the info on VFS office. She went in person next day submitted the info. All went well and also got a auto generated email acknowledging and informing the the vfs office has securely forwarded her info to Canadian embassy. Since she opted to pickup in person they told her to pick it up at the same place when ready. They will inform by either by a call or by email. We are hoping to pick it up Monday.

We applied jan28, 2016. She has to travel by Jan 19 as her medical will expire on 19th. Her destination is Victoria via Vancouver.

I believe the VFS office is an agent to do processing on behalf of many embassies and within this office is a rep for Canadian embassy. My wife dealt with this rep. The website of VFS is clear enough.

Hi my husband received PPR request last Wednesday and he handed over the passport later that day. Waiting to retrieve the passport hopefully Monday.

I don't get it.. people who applied in 2016 are getting ppr. Our case went back to colombo in august 2015 and we haven't had any updates since November 2015. I'm so frustrated.. why are they delaying so much???

Can someone share their experience/knowledge about bringing belongings from Sri Lanka when coming as new PR. My wife will bring two suit cases and also will ship some via cargo. Any suggestions on cargo shipping to Vancouver? What forms to fill out to list your belongings? What is BSF186 and BSF186A? Which one is used for listing items accompanying you and which one to list goods coming via cargo? I am a bit confused! Clarification would be appreciated.

hey I applied for my hubby in nov 2015 and medical expired and we have not heard anything so did mp inquiry 6 times and the answer we get is they have not started criminality and that we have to wait till we reach the processing time but where as some ppl who applied in 2016 got PPR by now.. the immigration should have a fair system for everyone...

That's what exactly I was thinking too, we have applied in Oct 2014 and still waiting..

What's the reason for them to delay your application for so long? Did you get your GCMS notes? Did you go for MP inquiry?

I don't really know what are they doing with our application, Yes we got our gcms notes and there are no any negative points. Relationship and marriage are genuine, eligibility is passed for both, medical is passed, the final update was background check is in progress (May 2016), according to the gcms notes they've checked our application once in a while and file is sitting in the queue more than 2 years.

They've asked for the re-medical in November for the 3rd time and again we are in the queue..

And yes we've contacted our MP several times and they've got the same updates.
