Guys!! My friend has got PPR!!

When did the status change and when was the application submitted. Is this the person who you said that the status changed to DM?

Also did she get a phone call?

No need for a transit visa in Hong Kong or London. However, don't take Dublin or any USA transit as the Sri Lankan passport holders need transit visa no matter what. You can also try via Japan, Singapore. Depending on whats cheaper.

The email from the embassy stated to provide passport with the email and two passport photos to a rep and vfs.
The Vfs is located at geethanjali place, colombo-3

Their instructions were detailed and clear. Looked like a generic email for all types of pprs.

Good day Folks.
Some good news to share and to ask for your suggestion and reliable info. My wife in colombo got a late phone call jan4 from a gent from can embassy asking if she would be able to leave for Canada as her medical will expire by Jan 19. Of course, she said yes. And he said they are sorry for not contacting sooner as her application was closed before Xmas but couldn't call her due to holidays etc. They will soon send details via email on how to get the visa stamped etc. So far no emails but hoping to receive Jan 5.

FYI, nothing was updated on either ecas or my account. It still says, we need additional docs, background chk is in progress, interview not needed at this time, etc. Our last submission of additional docs (revised picc) was September 30. Had heard nothing since. But now this sudden phone call. It seems the Eva's and IRS my account is not very reliable!

As you can see we are Jan 28 2016 applicant. I hope this gives some hope for others who are in limbo.

I need the following info: what is the best route to come to Vancouver from colombo? If she comes via BA via London does she need a transit visa? What is the best way to ship/bring additional cargo as one is allowed only two bags. Is booking ticket online better or through an agent in Colombo? Any other tips that would help us.

Hey! Congrats.. good to hear the VO is working.

I've personally travelled through Shanghai, London and Hong Kong and I have to agree with dnyfyn, travelling through Hong Kong with Cathay is the best way to get from Colombo to Vancouver. Its worth the extra money especially if you wife is not a frequent traveler and has never travelled this far.

Most people I know usually had to submit at the embassy directly.

I wonder why some people at VFS and some at embassy? any idea?

I believe the new procedure is everyone has to go through VFS. Am I not correct?

I tried to email yesterday to check the status after remedial & Police request..still they saying the standard answer like " File is in queue for officer review " I'm June 2015 applicant I don't how far it's going to drag!!!

Totally worried & don't know what to do
