Processing time for spousal visa - Sri Lanka

Congratulations! Soo happy for you. That was soo fast. Did you do anything different? I am just wondering because I wonder how long we have to wait. Do you think I should email them and ask?

When you mean exas you mean on the file? It stills says application recieved.... And it says medical received that's all...

ops sorry it was a typo. I meant to ask ecas lol. Yes mine is still saying Application received but my wife received an email saying please submit your passport and 2 photos. I am scared since i made a mistake on one of the form and i sent it them before the asked me to. I dont think they will do anything bad for me. I have all the documents what they asked for it and i gave them enough proofs of our relationship such as phone, skype, online gifts and viber histroy. They havent ask me for anything and i am waiting to see the miracle to happen.

Don't worry I think you will get your visa. If they ask for passport and pictures that most likely mean you have got the visa, from what I have heard and read here. You are very lucky if so. If you don't mind me asking who did you email the visa office in Sri Lanka? What did you tell them? Where can if find there email address because I can't find it...

I want to mention you one thing, I have a friend ( dont mistake me I have many friends who was/is/will sponsor their spouses) who received her visa on First week of december had an issue. She only figure out the passport request since it was in JUNK. Please make sure your junk folder is not deleting as it receive an email. ( I received in regular inbox anyway) and she was almost about to miss the chance. we have to submit the passport within 30 days of the email. They havent called her or email again after the first email. Just letting you know so u can be aware of these.

Anyway, after I receive the Visa , i will tell you the format how I send the email. I don't want to misguide you if my choice was wrong

Oh really? Thank you for letting me know we will defiantly keep a look at my junk mail now.

Our time line is

We applied on October 18, 2013
We got our approval on Nov 21, 2013

I have to hold my nerves till Monday. I do not know how to react at this moment. everything happened in such quickkkkkk time than i expected. Hope it is for the best though.

Thanks Shanu! Well, if you have good background and your spouse everything is good to go. Most likely the visa officer's approving a fast visa, but be careful when submitting your applications. Do everything correctly. Good luck Shanu. Do send email if only no replies more than a month. Don't keep sending them emails because they will get annoyed. Only send if urgent.
