I really wish people that have gone through the self employed process could give us more insight. Because from the comments from the few who hve taken their time to comment here, there seems to be a disconnect from their experience and whatever the timeline that the CIC website claims. Personally I applied in October last year and am now just finishing dealing with the medicals. So from my admittedly uninformed guess given other people's and my own experience it seems like the processing times are nowadays around a year for federal self-employed category.
You applied under self-employed here in PI? WOW! We are actually a family of 3 and its going to be my husband whose going to apply under the self-employed category application and he has been working on his own wayback 2007 and we only found this now re self-employed application. Again, Congratulations to you! If you do not mind, where are you now based exactly in Canada? Where do u think is the best place for self-employed person to migrate in Canada, any suggestion? And, what's the name of the office who helped you with the application?

Technically, it's not mandatory. However it does add points which may turn out to be valuable. And depending on evaluating officer they might request you to provide it. I'm thinking it's safer just to include it
