In most cases, once we had TB, the "PPT Test" (or Montouk Test or colloquially - the Skin Test) would reflect +ve, lifelong. It's of no concern. Relax!

That your Sputum Test & the repeat Xrays depicted -ve... is the key... to success ! Don't worry, u'll be thru. Though u'd receive a "Medical Surveillance Letter" alongwith your PR Visa -- but the PPR is assured.

Good Luck !

Respected Qorax, I have the same problem as our friend here. In my case, I did not indicate in my application form(background declaration form) that I had once had a health condition, as I was not fully aware of any. However, I have a gibbus spine which I understand from my mom, was due to a certain type of TB called potts disease, I also learnt it is not the contagious type, but destructive to the victim. This I was told, happened many many years ago(childhood days). I am 39 years now.
I have received letter from CIO that my application received final positive eligibility review for processing, and has been forwarded to my VO for further processing.( I am post June 26, 2010 fsw 1 applicant).
I understand that, there is another form for the medicals where, I will be asked if I have received treatment for TB before, and I intend answering YES. But my concerns are;
1. Would this not contradict my earlier declaration?
2. I do not have any old medical report on how it was treated and where( wouldn't know if the DMP would ask for that)
PLEASE RESPECTED QORAX, I NEED YOUR TAKE ON THIS. THANKS.

Thank you Qorax,
i recieved my visa today.

POTTS Condition cannot be revealed by the usual CIC Medical Tests. If u r Ok with that erstwhile disease - ie. if u r already cured - u r fine with it. Relax, just take the tests & be free to go!!!

No.
The PR card processing is independednt of the Med Survl issue. U'd 'land' as usual & proceed to complete your SIN, Bank a/c, OHIP etc. as everyone. As u settledown u r required to visit a Service Ontario office & present your Med Survl docs.

They'd then advice u further action... there r certain specialized clinics who deal with that... they'd take your sputum again & post 'culture' u'd retake an Xray - whereafter, they'd certify u FIT. Just that a record of TB cases (latent or active) r maintained by Health Canada.

Good Luck!
