I'd like to know if pre-arrival services that the CANADIAN ORIENTATION ABROAD offers is a mandatory..my husband receives an email from the visa section of the canadian embassy in the philippines that he is eligible for the pre-arrival services..Is it also a requirement to obtain a visa?can someone help me with this one pls..thank you
 
Pre-arrival services is not mandatory. But, since the PA (your husband) is coming from the Philippines, he is required to attend a seminar (PDOS- Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar) from CFO once he gets the visa and COPR from the embassy. CFO will affix a sticker on his passport right after the seminar.

Congratulations, btw. Receiving pre-arrival services means that your husband will soon get PPR. If you don't mind sharing your timeline, please?

Hi! I received my PPR and COPR last June 16th, followed by pre-arrival services orientation last July 3rd. I am planning to fly to Canada by November 6th. Is it okay if i will have my PDOS/ seminars in October? or should it be sooner?

It's all up to you when you want to attend PDOS. Just make sure that you do get the sticker from CFO before you leave :)

It depends on the VO, but I received my PPR eight days after receiving this.

Better check your Spam Folder first ^^. if none, wait for it, it will come soon like a week. Congrats!

Sometimes it can take a month after the pre-arrival services letter. One of our pre-arrival services client, who is also immigrating from the Philippines, waited for a month and a couple days between the pre-arrival services letter and the PPR.

By the way, if you are coming to Manitoba, you can get help at the Immigrant Centre Pre-Arrival Centre, which is one of the 24 authorized pre-arrival services in Canada, and the only one which is specific to Manitoba. You can request services in Tagalog as well. www.ic-pac.com
