Hi, so i have a friend who currently moved to Canada to study as an international student and got married to his girl friend who is a Canadian. He previously married in the United States and divorced but didn’t declare that on his visa application before moving to Canada and also during the marriage application. He wants to file for PR but he is unsure if the immigration will figure out about the marriage and divorce in the United States. Please advice.

He got married fradulently in Canada. This is extremely problematic (it means his marriage here technically isn't legal). The misrepresentation on the study permit is serious as well.
He should certainly expect that IRCC will find out about his marriage during background checks. Canada and the US share information extesively.
