So my partner and I mistakenly booked a trip to Mexico not knowing that he must be in possession of the PR card. We were under the misguided notion that once he had landed, he was free to travel.
He definitely won’t get his PR card in time before we are meant to depart for our trip. We were advised by the IRCC agent that he would need to obtain a PR travel document in order to return to Canada. Does anyone have any experience with this in Mexico City?
We plan to be in Mexico for 2 weeks. Is this enough time? Or is it safer to re-book flights to US and cross over by land (not ideal but will suck it up if need be)?
