Hello everyone I have a friend who get permanent residency since 2016 he's out of canada more than 3 years for business now he don't know if he's PR renewal application will be approve I really need help for good answers
Well if you have out of Canada for more than 3 years since 2016 then it is possible if you try to renew your PR card that your PR status may be revoked. You needed to be in Canada 2 years out of 5 and being abroad on business would not count unless it was a temporary assignment from a Canadian employer

OK he suppose go back to canada since March 2020 because of the covid-19 he couldn't get flight back that wait he's out of the canada more than 3 years, anyway if he's PR get revoked what he will need to do to get it again
The current situation with Covid might buy him a month or 2 grace, but in the preceding 3 years, what prevented him from returning to meet RO? If his residency is revoked he would need to reapply like everyone else.
If he was already out of status before covid it can’t be used as a reason not to meet your RO. Based on previous posts the person or you have been out of Canada since 2015. When did the person land as a PR and how much time have they spent in Canada? When does their PR card expire?

He must have spent some time out of Canada before may 2017 based on your information. He must meet the 2 out of 5 years by September 2020. Landing date is what counts.
Hi All, I will be present 731 days in Canada soon on my PR date, having met my RO, can I apply for PR renewal immediately, has anyone been in similar situation?

Would wait a few months since you are so close to the 730 days. I would also check that you have calculated right. You are more likely to be reviewed so close to 730.
