PR Renewal - Anyone tried or applied renewal before 9 months

Hi All ,

As per CIC guidelines for PR renewal "your card has expired or will expire in less than 9 months" anyone tried to renewals before that . i am having situation where my father is travelling and his 11 months ahead on his PR renewal date , he will back to canada next year same time.

want help on this , if any one from this group applied PR renewal in advance ( earlier to 9 moths expire) ? and successfully renewed it?

Yes, people have tried and IRCC returns the application.

Your father will have to apply for a PRTD to return to a Canada if his PR card expires while abroad (assume he meets RO) or fly to the US and return to Canada via land. Will he compliant with his RO when he plans on returning to Canada or in the past 5 years if he has been a PR for longer than 5 years?

Again, he cannot applied to renew when he is already outside. (if he is already travelling)
He will need to apply for PRTD (assuming that he meets his RO by the time he wants to travel next year) and use that to travel back.
I also asume that you mean his PR card will expire in 11 months from now and he plans to come back to Canada AFTER his PR expires. But that's just my guess from reading your post.

No. he cannot. Can't he come back before his PR card expires in Oct 2024? You said he is coming back next year.
Or he can apply for PRTD after he leaves Canada. He has enough time to wait for PRTD approval.
Then he can renew his PR card after he returns in 2024.
(assuming that he still meets his RO by then)

This question was already answered. I'm not sure what's confusing to you. He can apply 9 months early at the most. If he applies earlier, his application will be returned.
