I will be landing at Toronto Pearson Airport (YYZ) on 21 october 2018 (Sunday) with Spouse.
I'm contemplating on changing my PR landing plans to a Weekday, as i'm not sure about the following questions:
a) I have couple of friends who landed on weekdays, but they are not sure if the process is different on weekends? If i land on a Sunday at YYZ, can i also apply for PR card at airport or do i need to do that on a weekday?
b) Apart from requested PR Card pictures (in CIC specifics), do i need any other documents for applying PR card?
C) I understand that SIN can be applied at airport on weekday's as on weekends, the SIN booth at YYZ will be closed. My question is ,do i need a passport to apply for SIN?
I would really appreciate your help on this, as i may need to change travel plans accordingly.
Others will comment as well I am sure but no point changing plans.
A)makes no difference really weekday or weekend passing through immigration, getting your COPR processed/validated and setting off the PR card application which would be started at same time by cBSA assuming you have a Canadian address . It is exactly same process whether weekday or weekend
B)PR card application will be started by CBSA at same time they process your COPR Again assuming you can provide a Canadian address for delivery
C)documents required to get a SIN are validated COPR and proof Id ( passport). simple enough to find a Service Canada on a weekday if desk at airport closed, will be issued on the spot usually.
