So I was able to get in touch with ircc agent right now. Luckily the wait time was just 22 min and easily got to talk to somebody. I asked them about ecopr timelines, why are they delayed and when can we expect coprs.
She said - "There's no guaranteed timelines for ecopr and unfortunately the delay is just due to a lot of files accumulated in the system. There's no guarantee either to expect ecoprs withing 90 days or on that mark. It totally depends on 2 things, the visa office and the particular officer in charge of our files. Some visa offices might be working faster than the others and the issuance is completely subjective to that particular officer to which our file is assigned. So all we can do is wait and do nothing about it."
Can we travel outside canada before ecopr and after portal 2?
As per the agent - "we do not recommend any type of travel outside canada before ecopr is issued because if ecopr is issued when you are outside canada, then we would need to get it cancelled and reapply for it again when we are back in canada.
In case of emergency travel, we can let them know about our travel dates through webform or by calling them. Moreover, we need make sure ircc acknowledges our email or webform before we travel.
What would happen to our application if we travel outside canada after telling ircc about our travel dates?
"Our file will be placed on hold until we come back and communicate with them about our entry. Also, there's no guarantee we would receive our ecopr directly after we enter canada. We might receive P1 P2 again and it depends on the officer who has our file."
So good luck.

Hi guys. is it true that if my passport expires in less than 6 months, my application could end up in a backlog? I applied in March 2024, received the AOR in June, after which I submitted a new passport, and since then, I haven't heard anything. PNP EE
